Centaurea solstitialis (yellow starthistle)
Yellow starthistle is wide-spread in Inland Mendocino County. It was originally introduced to California in forage, and this is still a common pathway.

Centaurea solstitialis is frequently seen along roadsides and in disturbed grasslands.
